Scented candles are fast becoming the item of choice to stimulate, sooth or alter the mood in the modern house. They add atmosphere, a bit of class and most critically, awesome aromas to your chill time. The modern home in the world is often decorated with an entire host of items to make the interior more inviting and more relaxing. Gigantic cushions, cosy sofas, ambient lighting and an entire crop of technology items to keep us entertained. This is fantastic but some of us have found the ultimate accessory. Scented Candles! These not only look gorgeous but also add a that vitally important fragrance. Imagine relaxing to the wonderful scent of Mango & Papaya Smoothie or the so relaxing scent of Lavender Pillow. There’s a smell for each mood, time of year or personal fragrance out there. It’s simply a matter of finding your ideal scent and brand and you can experiment until you drop.
My favorite brand is Busy Bee Candles. This is a tiny UK company specialising in handmade scented candles and home perfume products that I originally found on Twitter. These guys make the most amazing smells I have come across and believe you me, I’ve used them all!
I always buy a selection of candles and their fantastic wax tarts. For people who have never used a wax tart, you’re in for a treat. You put these small bombs of scent into an oil burner reservoir and light a tea light below. They melt in the burner and give off the scent. And boy what scent! They last ages too. My personal record is 6 tea lights for one wax tart that cost me 80 pence on promotion!!
My favourite fragrances are Baby Powder (the best I’ve found by far “refined & robust at the same time), Lime Cooler (the best citrus mix ever and it lasts ages) and Rose Petals (cause it smells simply amazing). I have tried probably 50 smells from Busy Bee Candles and want to say that I have never found one I don’t love. I have even burned a couple of their premium candles and these just rock! They really change smell a little as they burn! How cool is that.
